Our Programs

Program Overview

Our YTA programs run year-round and can be joined at any point throughout the year. During the academic year we offer After-School Programs, and during the summer we extend our hours so kids have the chance to spend even more time on court. Both our After-School and Summer Programs include tennis, academics and special events. Click here to see hours and locations.

We are happy to be offering our programs free of charge! However, students are required to have an official registration form on file. Registration forms need to be renewed once per year.

Tennis

Programs - Tennis

YTA welcomes all tennis skill levels from beginner to advanced. Professional coaches teach players the ins and outs of the game, including court skills and sportsmanship. Junior Team Tennis and higher-level competition is supported for students who qualify. Site directors approve each case individually based on participation, tennis skill level, school GPA and court conduct.

Academics

Programs - Academics

Education is an integral part of the YTA program. Academic coordinators are available to assist students with their homework, every day throughout the school year.

Coordinators also teach the National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) developed curriculum that promotes academic achievement, health, wellness, social skills and emphasizes the need for setting and achieving personal goals. All students are required to submit their report cards to their site director quarterly.

Students are encouraged to participate in the Arthur Ashe Essay Contest, to express their thoughts on the impact of tennis and education in their lives. The winner qualifies for a trip to New York, with one parent or guardian, to watch the US Open where they will be presented with their award.

Life Skills

Programs - Life Skills

The Life Skills Curriculum uses tennis to empower youth with the skills, values and experiences they need to become responsible and successful individuals. There are three program levels including Game, Set and Match. Each level has six instructional units, including foundational lessons and practical activities. YTA trained life skills coaches guide and encourage students throughout each series.
